Evaluation of Bio diesel additive on engine performance
- Role:
- Providing a test program to evaluate the effects of the additive on the engines mechanical and emissions performance.
- Activities:
- Planning and delivering a test program that could evaluate the performance and power of the engine together with measurement of emissions including particulates.
- Achievements:
- The program conclusively proved a difference between current diesel fuel performance and the Bio additive performance. The test repeatability and reliability were excellent.
Sports car exhaust system validation
- Role:
- Develop and deliver a validation programme for the exhaust of a high performance sports car with rear mounted transaxle and V12 engine.
- Activities:
- A test programme was designed to match the warranty requirements and a special test rig configured to accept the full vehicle driveline. Special attention was required to ensure temperature stability within the cell for the high power engine. Testing included structural inputs through a synchronised electro-hydraulic shaker whilst running a dynamic cycle on the engine.
- Achievements:
- Comprehensive test programme that proved the durability of the exhaust.
